Separate the treatment types
Start with the tanning salon directory and note whether a listing refers to spray tanning, sunbeds or another service. The preparation and time involved may be quite different.
A clear enquiry is the safest way to find out whether the service is appropriate for you and what the salon expects before arrival.
Treat safety information as a direct question
Ask about age requirements, session guidance, preparation and aftercare, and follow the salon's current instructions. The directory is not a substitute for professional or medical advice.
Use ratings and reviews as general feedback context, not as evidence that a particular treatment is safe or suitable for you.
Compare access and appointment details
If you are nearby, compare tanning salons in Dublin or tanning salons in Cork and check the listed opening hours before making contact.
Confirm the equipment, treatment type, price and availability directly with the salon.
Identify the equipment and treatment
Ask whether the business offers spray tanning, sunbeds or another service and how it describes the process. The category name alone cannot confirm what equipment or treatment is available.
For a spray tan, ask about skin preparation, clothing, development time and aftercare. For a sunbed, ask the operator to explain its current safety guidance, duration limits and restrictions.
Tanning services can carry health risks. If you have a concern about your skin, medication or health history, speak with an appropriate healthcare professional before deciding.
Check the operator's current instructions
Read any guidance the business supplies and ask questions if a step is unclear. Confirm what to do before arrival, how the session is monitored and what to do if you feel uncomfortable.
Ask whether an appointment is needed, how long the visit takes and what the current price is. These details may differ by location.
Use the directory to compare location and contact routes, then rely on the operator and suitable professional advice for treatment-specific guidance.
